At the pinnacle of the Federal Republic of Lostisland, the Presidency, embodied by His Excellency Yaroslav Mar, plays a vital role in our nation’s governance. President’s Core Functions

The President of Lostisland fulfills several essential functions as outlined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Lostisland, ensuring the smooth operation of our nation:

Guarantees the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Freedoms

The President serves as the guardian of our Constitution, ensuring the protection of civil rights and freedoms for all citizens.

Appoints and Dismisses Lostislandic Diplomats

Responsible for diplomatic appointments, the President selects and removes Lostislandic Ambassadors, shaping our international relations.

Appoints the Prime Minister After Election

Following national elections, the President appoints the Prime Minister, a critical role in our government’s leadership.

Governs the Foreign Policy of Lostisland

The President is at the helm of shaping our foreign policy, guiding our nation’s interactions with the global community.

Commands the Civil Guard and Intelligence Services

Overseeing security, the President commands the Civil Guard and intelligence services, safeguarding our nation.

Grants and Revokes Lostislandic Citizenship

The President wields the authority to grant or revoke Lostislandic citizenship, significantly influencing our nation’s identity.

Presides at and coordinates the Council of Elders

In a leadership role, the President presides over the Council of Elders, a vital institution in our governance.

Signs and Promulgates Laws (Together with the Prime Minister)

Collaborating with the Prime Minister, the President signs and promulgates laws, guiding our nation’s legal framework.
Constitutional Mandate

The President of Lostisland is chosen through a universal vote for a four-year term. It’s important to note that as per Article LXXIV of the Constitution, the first presidential election will be held following the passing or voluntary resignation of Yaroslav Mar, who currently holds the distinguished position of President for Life.

    1. The Federal President shall be the head of the State.
    2. The Federal President shall be guarantor of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Lostisland, of the rights and freedoms of man and women.
    3. According to the rules established by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Lostisland, he shall adopt measures to protect the sovereignty of the Federal Republic of Lostisland, its independence and state integrity, ensure coordinated functioning and interaction of all the bodies of state power.
    4. According to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Lostisland and federal laws the Federal President shall determine the guidelines of the internal and foreign policies of the State.
    5. As the head of the State the Federal President represents the Federal Republic of Lostisland inside it and in international relations.

Meet the President

His Excellency Yaroslav Mar, an individual of manifold talents and passions, is our reigning President. A trained classical musician, he has an impressive repertoire that extends to other avenues such as entrepreneurship, travel management, and advocacy for free speech. He has also made his mark as a published author.

Back in July 2008, Yaroslav Mar became an integral part of what would eventually evolve into Lostisland, contributing to the transformation of an eponymous roleplay game into the Republic of Lostisland in September 2010. His leadership skills earned him the esteemed position of Captain Regent of the Republic of Lostisland. With the proclamation of the Federal Republic of Lostisland on 4 April 2013, Yaroslav Mar assumed the mantle of the President of the Federal Republic of Lostisland.

Among his accolades and memberships, Yaroslav Mar counts being a part of the Royal Musical Association (UK), the Spanish Musicological Society, the Royal Society for Music History of The Netherlands, and the Anglo-Portuguese Society. He carries the honor of being a Captain in Corps Saint Lazarus International (Austria).

A true polyglot, Yaroslav Mar is proficient in a variety of languages, including Russian, English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and Hebrew. His multi-faceted personality and skills continue to serve Lostisland in a myriad of ways.
