The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is committed to maintaining contacts between Lostisland and the outside world.

As a transnational project and a global sovereignty, the Federal Republic of Lostisland welcomes contacts and co-operation with all peace-loving nations, states, companies and organizations. Throughout her history, Lostisland entered into treaties and agreements with multiple entities, the majority of them being other new nation projects or micronations. However, since 19 November 2014, in accordance with the change in foreign policy, the Federal Republic no longer engages in diplomatic relations with micronations. Exceptions to this rule are only made at the discretion of the President.

Hon. Ilian Kostov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lostisland, is a Bulgarian business manager.

Ilian Kostov is one of the most senior Lostislandic officials, having continuously served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs since 13 October 2013. Ilian Kostov is the fifth Minister of Foreign Affairs in Lostislandic history.

Ilian Kostov is a speaker of Bulgarian, English, Czech, German and Russian.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs oversees Lostislandic Ambassadors: officials responsible for representing Lostisland in their particular country of residence. Typically one ambassador per country is appointed: however, from 2015 to 2020 Lostisland appointed two ambassadors to Brazil, whose area of responsibility also includes neighboring Paraguay and Uruguay.

Lostislandic Ambassadors are the face of Lostisland and must have an impeccable record within the organization. Until September 2020 the diplomatic service was by-invitation-only, and typically the appointed Ambassadors were senior Lostislandic citizens.

Today, any Lostislandic citizen may apply to become an Ambassador, provided that they meet the specified criteria.
