“Sustainable finance is essential to addressing the most pressing global challenges of our time, including climate change, poverty, and inequality. We need to scale up sustainable finance investments and make them more accessible to all countries and sectors, particularly developing countries.”
Sustainable finance is a broad term that refers to financial products and services that are designed to support sustainable development and environmental protection. This includes investments in renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable agriculture, and other sustainable businesses and projects. Sustainable finance can help to create jobs and opportunities in developing countries, and to invest in social safety nets that can help people to weather economic shocks.
The 2023 Annual Meeting was a significant opportunity for experts to come together and discuss the most important economic and development challenges facing the world today. The meetings also provided a platform for the World Bank and IMF to present their latest economic research and analysis.
