LOSTISLAND, 7 January 2014 – as Parliamentary Election 2014 finished, the ruling Lostislandic National Congress reaffirms its popular support and secures majority in the Grand National Assembly with 53,8% of the votes, by a large margin going ahead of its closest rival, former PM Denis Tezdzhan’s Party for Freedom and Democracy, which received 23% of the votes. The newly-established Lostislandic National Party (led by Minister of the Interior Jacob Lewis) and the Anti-Capitalist Left Front (led by Emanuel Terranova) close the race with 11,5% of the votes each, yet qualifying for seat in the Assembly.
As a result of the election, the Grand National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Lostisland, consists of the following deputies:
- Lostislandic National Congress: Jeffrey José Araya, Norbert L’Hostis, Trace Fleeman, Steve Rosarda;
- Anti-Capitalist Left Front: Emanuel Terranova, Adrian McAlinden Vikki;
- Party for Freedom and Democracy: Denis Tezdzhan;
- Lostislandic National Party: Jacob Lewis.
The election saw the participation rate of 56,5% and lasted from January 3 until January 7. The Grand National Assembly is expected to gather for the first meeting in a week, on which the Speaker will be elected and plans for the future discussed.
