Each July 2, the people of Lostisland celebrate the main holiday of the nation — the Anniversary of Foundation, better known as the Day of Lostisland (not to be confused with the Independence Days celebrated in September). Six years ago, on July 2 2008 a student from the suburbs of St.Petersburg registered the domain lostisland.clan.su, used to host the website of the Lost Island roleplay game, direct predecessor of the Republic of Lostisland and the Federal Republic of Lostisland. The game, soon joined by future Captains Regent Yaroslav Mar and Stepan Ignatiev, never rose into prominence and even at the pique of activity never had more than ten participants; however, experience gathered in the developing of the game was later used to establish the governmental system of the Republic of Lostisland after it declared independence in September 2010.
Traditionally, the Day of Lostisland is the most loved Lostislandic holiday; standing above political differences, it is equally respected by Lostislanders of all the spectrum, from the “old guard” to newcomers. Videoaddress of the President Yaroslav Mar on the occasion of the Anniversary will be released in the coming days; meanwhile, we publish the text congratulations messages. Citizens of Lostisland or representatives of foreign countries who wish to deliver their message and have it published on this page may email the text of the message to anniversary@lostisland.org.

Your Excellency Yaroslav Mar,I would like to congratulate all of you for the sixth anniversary of our micronation Lostisland. I would like to wish all of us more prosperity, new friends and good new friends. Let’s not forget the long way we have past the friends and enemies that we have met during our way to this anniversary. Let’s wish then to be with us in future, because without friends we can’t exist and without enemies we can’t have challenges. Now is the moment to look back during the past years, what goals we have achieved and what we have missed.
Last year we had the first in our history international online election or out national assembly. We have signed a number of treats with old friends we have several pending treaty’s and recognitions in process, our new constitution is in process…
What can I say, we have done a great job because all of us, the Citizens of Lostisland have been helping and donating the most valuble thing – our personal time.

In these six years Lostisland has achieved a lot, graduating from a role-play game to a state respected in the whole world. The greatest contribution to it has been made by the Lostislandians themselves, who built their country and were devoted to it, developed its economy and fought its enemies, making friends of the country at the same time. Many things have happened in that time; Lostisland has even switched from Atlantic Ocean to Pacific. The only thing remains constant: it is that Lostisland was, is and will be a friendly family!Congratulations!
