Abhishek Thakkar appointed Ambassador to India

February 24, 2021Staff
President Yaroslav Mar signed a Decree appointing Abhishek Thakkar the Ambassador of Lostisland to the Republic of India, succeeding Ambassador Onkar Singh who resigned on 12 February.

H.E. Abhishek Thakkar is an Indian businessman. Born on 10 June 1988, he graduated from New LJ College of Commerce and is the chairman of Pride Group, one of the fastest-growing private conglomerates in India. Abhishek Thakkar joined Pride Commodity, the company founded by his father Pratapbhai Thakkar in 2009 as Managing Director and is credited with having pioneered many solutions in the commodity markets.

Ambassador Thakkar is the recipient of a number of awards, including the Youngest Commodity Futures Broker of India, is the first warehouse service provider of Gujarat to get empaneled with NCDEX spot exchange. Currently, he actively handles Amar Warehousing Pvt Ltd., Bonafide Laboratories Pvt. Ltd, Chanakya Commodities Consultant Pvt. Ltd., Pride Commodity Pvt. Ltd., Pride Trade link Pvt. Ltd., and Amero Research & Loyalty Solutions Pvt. Ltd.

The Ambassadors of Lostisland are the highest officials representing Lostisland in a particular country, responsible for speaking on behalf of the Lostislandic Government, coordinating the activities of resident Lostislandic citizens, and establishing a dialogue with local authorities and organizations. The Lostislandic diplomatic service underwent a major overhaul in September 2020, dubbed “Defenestration of 2020” by Ian Siapno, the Ambassador to the Philippines, in which half of the Ambassadors were dismissed following failure to pass the recertification. Abhishek Thakkar is the fourth Ambassador to be appointed after the overhaul.

India is home to the third-largest Lostislandic diaspora, after Russia and the United States, and has 29 Lostislandic citizens as of February 2021, making the office of the Ambassador to India one of the most important ones in the Lostislandic diplomatic service. Previous Ambassador, Onkar Singh, was appointed on 17 July 2020 but resigned earlier this February for personal reasons.

Lostislandic citizens who are over 18, hold a high school degree, are not members of other new nation projects (micronations), and have never relinquished Lostislandic citizenship in the past may request to be appointed Ambassadors by filling in the application form.
