Shortly before Shabbat, President Yaroslav Mar accepted the resignation of Mordechai Linhart, also serving as the Chief Rabbi of Lostisland, as Minister of Innovation, Research and Development, and appointed him the Ambassador of Lostisland to the State of Israel.
Mordechai Linhart, a prominent Lostislandic politician, Freemason, and religious leader, joined Lostisland in 2018 and participated in the election of Prime Minister as the running mate of Elisha Mendelson. After the victory of Denys Tezdzhanko, he accepted the invitation to join the third Tezdzhanenko government as Minister of Innovation, Research and Development. In 2019 Mordechai Linhart became the Chief Rabbi of Lostisland – leader of the Lostislandic Jewish community.
Despite Israel hosting the fifth-largest Lostislandic diaspora and President Mar being an Israeli citizen himself, the position of Ambassador to Israel has remained vacant since February 2019 after the retirement of Dr. Meir Kasirer – the longest-serving Lostislandic official after the President himself.
Earlier this week, the President conducted a major overhaul of the diplomatic service, dubbed “Defenestration of 2020” by Ian Siapno, the Ambassador to the Philippines, in which half of the Ambassadors were dismissed following failure to pass the recertification.
The Ambassadors of Lostisland are the highest officials representing Lostisland in a particular country, responsible for speaking on behalf of the Lostislandic Government, coordinating the activities of resident Lostislandic citizens, and establishing a dialogue with local authorities and organizations. Mordechai Linhart will become the eighth Ambassador of Lostisland.
Lostislandic citizens who are over 18, hold a high school degree, are not members of other new nation projects (micronations) and have never relinquished Lostislandic citizenship in the past may request to be appointed Ambassadors by filling in the application form.
The new Minister of Innovation, Research and Development hasn’t been appointed yet. However, an announcement is expected to follow soon.
