President Mar issued today a Decree dismissing the Director-General of the Civil Guard Ober Commissar Kristijan Nevtonenko, stripping him off his military rank, his Lostislandic citizenship, and declaring him Enemy of the State.
The decision was made after Nevtonenko admitted to have accepted the appointment as “Honorary Consul” of “North Barchant” — an international con artist group that had falsely claimed to have conducted joint military drills with Moroccan and Algerian police, to have played a soccer match with the Algerian national team, and offered their passports and driving licenses for sale on numerous Russian boards. According to the group’s original legend, it had been founded on two barges drifting in the Atlantic off the coast of Morocco and abandoned by the ship owners, whose crew declared the ships a sovereign state — no evidence for which has ever been presented. After the legend was repeatedly called into question, the group announced the barges “evacuated” and has not been mentioning them ever since. There’s no mention of the barges in any independent sources, and no photos or videos have ever been uploaded.
Lostislandic officers are banned by law from obtaining citizenship in any micronation except Montescano, and since 2019 all Lostislandic citizens — whether officers or not — are banned from joining “North Barchant” on pain of losing citizenship, which means that by joining it Nevtonenko broke the law twice.
Kristijan Nevtonenko was the second Director-General of the Civil Guard, appointed in 2018 after his predecessor Andrey Orlov was also dismissed and stripped off citizenship as an Enemy of the State.
