For the first time in Lostisland’s history, the Lostislandic Government was notified about the birth of a child whose both parents are Lostislandic citizens.
The baby, a female, was born to a family of Russian Lostislandians in 2020, but for privacy reasons, the family requested to hold on with the announcement. According to Lostisland’s laws, a child with at least one Lostislandic parent is considered a natural-born Lostislandic citizen, and while natural-born citizens are not unheard of in Lostisland, this is the first time that both parents of a child have Lostislandic citizenship.
The child will be eligible to participate in Lostislandic activities and elections as soon as she comes of age (16 years in Lostisland), i.e. in 2036. Until then, participation in Lostislandic events will be conditional on parental approval. As with all natural-born citizens, the Certificate of Citizenship and the Birth Certificate will be issued to the child free of charge, and President Yaroslav Mar expressed interest in personally delivering the certificates to the parents.
As of July 2021, the Federal Republic of Lostisland has a population of 348 registered citizens, over 99% of whom are naturalized. In case there are more natural-born citizens, the Lostislandic Government requests the parents to submit the Birth Notification Form, so that a Certificate of Citizenship and a Birth Certificate could be issued.
