Norbu Dorje, the Prosecutor General and High Shaman of Lostisland, made a worrying prediction this Saturday, suggesting that a new SARS-CoV-2 strain might be coming soon.
A malignant spirit that went rogue and no longer abides Erlik Khan (the Turkic god of death) seeks to abandon the realm of the spirits and materialize in the form of a new SARS-CoV-2 strain, said the High Shaman. The spirit, whose appearance resembles that of wind, dragon, and goat, originates from Southeast Asia. While the High Shaman was unable to identify the specific country, he said that it will be an urbanized one and that the initial animal-to-human transmission will happen via cattle: goats or sheep. The mutated strain will be especially dangerous to children and will cause symptoms similar to those observed in patients with the so-called British variant: body rash, inflammation of the oral mucosa, swelling of the feet and hands, and also inflammation of the lymph nodes. It is also unclear whether or not the strain will be resistant to the existing vaccines.
The strain does not yet exist, stressed the High Shaman, and local Asian shamans are making an effort to apprehend the rogue spirit, in which case it will never materialize, but so far have been unsuccessful in doing so. The High Shaman also added that the spirit is different from the ones he had dealt with before. A possible explanation for it could be that COVID-19 being a novel disease, its respective spirits are also novel.
Norbu Dorje, known also in Lostisland as Nazar Chagatay, is a hereditary Yugur shaman. Having joined Lostisland in 2015, he served as the Supreme Judge of Lostisland till 2016 and was appointed Prosecutor-General in 2018 after taking a break from politics. The Federal Republic of Lostisland is unable to independently verify the prediction and encourages all individuals to obey the respective COVID-19 guidelines of their countries.
A total of 7 COVID-19 cases had been recorded among Lostislandic citizens, all of whom have successfully recovered.
