The Grand Principality of Pavlov became an associated state of Lostisland this evening, as the Treaty on Eternal Friendship and Alliance between the Federal Republic of Lostisland and the Grand Principality of Pavlov was signed by President Yaroslav Mar and Grand Prince Deniz. According to the document, citizens of Pavlov receive Lostislandic citizenship; the Federal Republic of Lostisland undertakes to defend the well-being of the Grand Principality of Pavlov and its sovereignty in case of foreign aggression, as well as represent and speak on behalf of Pavlov if requested by the Government; in turn, the Grand Prince nominated Lostislandic President the Crown Prosecutor of Pavlov. The treaty also envisages the elimination of border control between the countries, implementation of a joint political, cultural and social sphere.
The Grand Principality of Pavlov was officially declared on 14 September 2014 by the Head of the Pavlovian Royal House in Exile (now House of Karapavlovič) claiming the Antarctic territories of Grahamland and Liegé Island, and minutes after the news were made public achieved recognition from the Federal Republic of Lostisland. According to the treaty signed, the Grand Principality is recognized as successor in dignity to the historical Kingdom of Pavlov; the Grand Principality, respectively, recognized the Federal Republic as the official successor to the Kingdom, through the Federation of Belastrova.
he historical Kingdom of Pavlov was established in mid-2012 and on 4 April 2013 merged with the Republic of Lostisland, forming the Federal Republic of Lostisland according to the Treaty of Hunter Island. Former King Deniz retained the princely title and became the Federal Prime Minister; however, just one month after the unification, a series of separatist civil unrests within the now Federation of Pavlov forced the President to excommunicate the Prince’s cousine, a prominent Pavlovian nobleman, and eventually leaded to the Prince’s resignation as Prime Minister. Followed by proclamation of the independent Republic of Pavlov, the conflict grew to international level and was resolved only upon agreement between the Federal forces and the rebels, according to which the Lostisland’s federation was renamed to Belastrova and the Republic of Pavlov denounced its succession to the Kingdom and claims over the Federation’s territories. The Royal Family has been operating a House in Exile since then, and though proposals of reunification have been repeatedly brought by both parties, and the Pavlovian Royal House in Exile and the Federal Government of Lostisland developed amicable relations, up to this day a compromise was never reached.
