On April 8 2015 following the diplomatic talks between the Honorable Ilian Kostov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Lostisland, and H.S.H. Olivier de Nez-Martin, Secretary of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Principality of Principality of Aigues-Mortes, the Treaty of Mutual Recognition and Establishment of Bilateral Diplomatic Relations between the Federal Republic of Lostisland and the Principality of Aigues-Mortes was signed by representatives of the both countries and ratified by the authorized institutions. According to the treaty, Lostisland and Aigues-Mortes declared the recognition of each other, legitimacy of issued documents and noble titles existing in both countries. The relationship with Aigues-Mortes is also one of the last ones established before the change in policy, according to which the Federal Republic no longer engages in formal diplomatic relations.
The Principality of Aigues-Mortes is a micronation whose existence is based on its citizens wish to promote and to support all local initiatives. By becoming an unlikely country, it became to make sense by defending the “Made in Aigues-mortes”. Just like in Monaco or in Liechtenstein, the Princely Couple are working hard together with the citizens and the Princely Grand Council, to create and organize several events that are both fun and windows of local talents and creativity.
