Swan Aung appointed Ambassador to Myanmar

President Yaroslav Mar signed a Decree appointing Swan Aung the Ambassador of Lostisland to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

H.E. Swan Aung is a novelist, an engineer, co-founder, a literary critic, and an independent author. Born in 1986 in Yangon, Myanmar, he educated in the UK, and graduated from Temasek Polytechnic Singapore in 2009. His love of literature had started in childhood and he continued as a part-time lecturer and studying part-time courses at Charles Sturt University for his Master’s Degree. Currently, he works as a software engineer for Vodafone Group PLC.

In 2016, he starting his own business in the UK and became the founder of a mobile applications development firm. In 2018, he become one of the shareholders of a real estate company in Fitzrovia, Central London. He is also a student at United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and UNPAN (United Nations Public Administration Network). The 34-year-old continues his career as a professional consultant, with his technical skills in both IT and Engineering.

The Ambassadors of Lostisland are the highest officials representing Lostisland in a particular country, responsible for speaking on behalf of the Lostislandic Government, coordinating the activities of resident Lostislandic citizens, and establishing a dialogue with local authorities and organizations. The Lostislandic diplomatic service underwent a major overhaul in September 2020, dubbed “Defenestration of 2020” by Ian Siapno, the Ambassador to the Philippines, in which half of the Ambassadors were dismissed following failure to pass the recertification. Swan Aung will become the tenth Ambassador of Lostisland, and the third one to be appointed after the overhaul.

Lostislandic citizens who are over 18, hold a high school degree, are not members of other new nation projects (micronations), and have never relinquished Lostislandic citizenship in the past may request to be appointed Ambassadors by filling in the application form.
